Last night for FHE we were invited to the opening of Elder Bogdanov mission call. He is the one with his back to us in the picture. He is currently serving a mini-mission here but just got his full-time call. Lot's from the branch came to watch him open up his call.
We thought it would be just a minute so we had our driver waiting for us. One hour later....after singing, testimonies, guessing where he was going, a skit etc etc etc he opened his call...
He's going to Moscow! Reports Oct. 13th to the MTC in Provo.
(Another sister in the branch also got her call and she is going to the Ukraine. They report the same day.)
They put on a skit before he opened his call. It was pretty funny. You had to be there.

That's so exciting to read about the many missionary calls happening. What great examples they must be for their branches and families at home.
That is funny that they make a huge ordeal out of the pre-call program. Here we can hardly wait to get everyone on the phone until we open the call.
Hi T! I read the last several posts and I think that going on a mission in Russia is a great experience. I'm sure that these are the first of many wonderful experiences. I was very impressed when I heard that you were going out with missionaries to lessons. That is wonderful. I hope that things will continue to go well. It was great to Skype with you some yesterday. Have a good week!
It seems everything is done better now. When I was baptized I was just baptized. Now they have a program before and a dinner for all the family after. I think the mission call opening sounds great.
