It's Official....

We've been called to serve in the Russia Vladivostok Mission beginning July 1, 2009. Crazy, over-whelming, humbling, and exciting. We met with Elder Jeffery R. Holland on January 20th, 2009 for a "get to know you" chat, then with President Dieter F. Uchtdorf on January 27th, 2009, and he extended a call to serve as "Mission President" in the Russia Vladivostok Mission beginning July 1, 2009. We were asked to not tell where until today, so they could officially contact all the mission presidents that are being changed.

I will post the map and more details soon.

I Hope They Call Me On A Mission....

and they did !

More Christmas 2008

The Hadfields brought us yummy Christmas treats and also had the kids play some Christmas songs and their recitals pieces for us. I used to teach them piano. It was lots of fun to hear them play again. Sam and Jake are getting really good.

Christmas Treats

I tried Shannon's Orange Rolls....they were yummy!
I tried something new this year,
Peppermint Bark & Dipped Pretzel Rods

I love Williams & Sonoma's Peppermint Bark but it is so expensive so I search the web and found a recipe. I was nervous making it because I have never worked with dipping chocolate before. After finally figuring out how to keep the layers together...it worked out! And it tastes delicious! I found the cute tins at Walgreens.

This is the year for lst's! I dipped pretzel rods in carmel, chocolate and then drizzled white chocolate over them. Summer was my helper! She got to be the expert at the drizzle as well as the carmel layer. Thanks for your help Summer! I had lots of fun. I hope you did as well.

It's Beginning To Look Like Christmas

Years ago I started collecting Nativity Sets. These are some of my favorites!
The trees in the living room. Hmmm....I wonder what's in the boxes???

My favorite part...the mantle with all the Christmas Socks.
I am missing all those little children who will not be home this year for Christmas!
Oh well....next year, everyone should be home!

Yummy Website

Today I tried doing some holiday baking. I tried Shannon's Orange Rolls, Peppermint Bark, and later on I'm going to attempt dipping pretzel rods. I was talking to Shannon about her rolls and she shared this website with me. You might want to take a peek. I think it's fantastik. Cool ideas and great tips! www.ourbestbites.com
